Monday morning we started out going to Tiff and Derek’s workplace of Russel Stover Candies so they could get their schedules for the week. I really must comment after the lengthy discussion of stupid customers there on the forums, as I remember an issue being discussed was customers being bitchy of chocolate that’s out of date and such, and that chocolate can last well past the date. From what I can remember, Tiff had mentioned that this candy was in the sections of discounted candy, and that people would bitch about the out of date candy and demand a discount, even though the candy was already discounted and that’s why it’s in that section. Now I can almost understand some confusion that might have to be sorted out, until I was in the store itself, because when I was in there, every sign for all the discounted candy very clearly stated that the candy in that section was out of date. Since that is so clearly mentioned on any part of the store with such candy, the customer has no argument to stand on.
After being in the store for a while, we went to a diner to get some breakfast. And damn, can they cook good omelets down there. It had been a while before I had them, but I never remembered them being as good as they were down in Texas. I am seriously going to go to diners for breakfast every morning if I’m ever in the South again. After we ate, it was time to drop me off at the train station where we said our goodbyes. The train got there a couple hours late, but I got on there ok, although I had to share a seat, and the guy already sitting there was going to Chicago too, which means no laying down between the two seats for me to sleep. I pretty much only listened to CDs and the radio throughout the train ride, and managed to get a few hours sleep.
