A-Kon 15 Day 3

It’s now Sunday morning and we’re all taking showers and packing and stuff so we can checkout before the checkout line gets really long. While we were doing all that, we got a call saying that Tiff was chosen to play in the Anime 10,000 Yen Pyramid game. So once we were checked out and had our stuff packed into the car, we tried to find stuff to do to kill time, and eventually ended up at the game show room over half an hour early. We talked to the guys running it for a while, they were really cool guys and we were making fun of scary fanboys and fangirls and such, pretty fun. Once the actual game started, Tiff just owned. In the first round, she was partnered with Vic (voice actor) and they did a great job, winning the round and winning most of the pyramid. The second round this other girl pretty much owned, who kinda scared me since she seemed to be a bit out there. In the third round where the two winners went head to head, Tiff managed to win the Super 6 category netting her the Samurai X OVA boxset, where she threw it to us when she had a chance and nearly took out someone’s camera. The scary girl who won before didn’t do well at all in the third round, while Tiff managed to hold her own very well, winning the round. The host had the girl pick some DVDs and just as the winner’s circle round started to give Tiff more yen to “buy” more stuff out of the prize boxes, the girl scurried out with a crazy happy insane look on her face with a few DVDs. Talk about sportsmanship, just take your shit and leave. -_-;; Anyways, Tiff managed to get near all the pyramid complete, and made out with a bunch of DVDs. After that was done, there was time to do more games for people in the audience, where they used one of the catergories that didn’t get used in the actual game, and all the tiebreaker rounds they came up with. Parakisu and Lydia both got to go up, where they won a DVD and CD respectively. All in all, the game turned out great.

With everything of the con winding down, we decided it was a good time to leave. We had someone take group pictures of us with out cameras, then we had Derek take pictures of just me, Tiff, and Parakisu for an SMU forum staff pic. Just when me, Tiff, and Derek were about to say goodbye to Parakisu and Lydia, they figured out they didn’t have the money to take the express cab back to the airport. Lydia went to an ATM, but it wouldn’t accept her card. We each were about to give them a few bucks, until Parakisu informed us that the cost was $16/person and not $16 total. So we ended up driving them to the airport and said our goodbyes there. After that we made our way home (remember it’s my home too until I leave =P ) where Tiff took a nap, Derek went to the gaming center, and I was catching up with stuff online with Tiff’s computer. Later Tiff woke up and we watched some TV waiting for Adult Swim to come on, and Derek came home a little later with a friend and some alcohol. Now there’s something I haven’t been able to do in a while, drink. He asked me what kind of liquor I liked, and I told him what I’ve had and such and that I would drink whatever. He thought of a drink to make me and asked about what my tolerance level was. My response? “I’m half Irish.” He laughed and nodded making me a mixed drink with tequila and a couple other things, with a jalapeño pepper chilling in there. It was a pretty good drink, and did a good job of getting me pretty tipsy. Eventually Derek’s friend went home and we all went to bed.
